Water cycle Experiment/ Writing

This week we did an experiment about the water cycle. We had to use a plastic Ziplock bag and fill it with water then draw a rough sketch of the water cycle. This was all done in groups of 3/4, My group had Brianna, Chloe and I in it. We all took turns doing different roles to help finish this experiment.
Our next task with this experiment is to see what changes over time with the bags.

Title

How to make a water cycle bag

Purpose

To show how the water cycle works.

Materials

First experiment
  • 1x Large zip lock bag
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 drops blue food dye
  • 1x Vivid
  • 2 pieces of double sided tape

Second experiment
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1x Large zip lock bag
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 drops blue Food dye
  • 1x Vivid
  • 2 pieces of double sided tape
  • Small piece of litmus paper

Steps

First experiment
Get the zip lock bag and a vivid.
Draw a rough drawing of the water cycle
Get the teacher to put the water in the bag
Get the teacher to add some food dye into the bag as well.
Put the tape onto either end of the bag then put litmus paper in the corner of the zip lock bag opening then close it and pass it to your teacher to tape to the window.

Second experiment
Get the zip lock bag and a vivid.
Draw a rough drawing of the water cycle
Get the teacher to put the water and baking soda in the bag
Get the teacher to add some food dye into the bag as well.
Put the tape onto either end of the bag then put litmus paper in the corner of the zip lock bag opening then close it and pass it to your teacher to tape to the window.

Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be…
1st
I think that the water will stay as it is and not change. Just because the water is stuck in a closed bag and has nothing in it but food dye that nothing will change/happen.

2nd
I think that the water will slowly evaporate and the water will disappear.
The reason being that there is baking soda in it therefore I think it will slowly evaporate and by the end of this experiment there will be less water not empty but less water in the bag.

What actually happened...

100 Word Challenge

This is my 100 word challenge for this we had to have 100 words no more no less. Mine is about something kind of naughty my best friend and I did. We had to include the phrase Looking back I remember. Then we had to make sure we definitely had 100 words if not we had to add or remove some words.

Looking back I remember,
On my first year of primary school, during interval, I remember going to the bathroom with my best friend Erika and pouring soap all over the floor and taking off our shoes. We skated up and down in our socks for ages even through to class time. As time went on, obviously it was slippery we fell over a lot so  when we finally came back to class our teacher wondered what happened so we told her, but we weren't in trouble, we didn’t even have to clean it. We did, however, make our teacher laugh.

100 Words- But its the wrong colour

This is my 100 word challenge writing we had to write about anything but we had to include the phrase "but its the wrong colour". This has to be 100 words no more no less. I found the idea for this story from videos ive seen of kids getting rather expensive and complaining that it was the wrong colour

I was early Sunday morning on my 15th birthday! I rushed down the stairs to find a pile of presents and my mum sitting next to them waiting for me. I paused to admire my pile then dashed to mum's side and ripped open my presents first came a watch next a set of makeup and more. I ripped open the silver and turquoise paper to see my the final present, I opened the box and inside was a brand new top of the line iPhone in bright red I turned to mum and said  “ ‘but it's the wrong colour’ ”.
