Personally I think it is not fair because its not your fault that you are a women. I also think that women have as much of a say in anything as men. You should not base votes off gender because it isn't your choice as to what gender you are. I think women are just as capable as men.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

The Right To Vote
For this task I have to write what I think about the fact that women were not allowed to vote in Saudi Arabia until 2015. weather it is fair? Why or why not?

Hi there Talia,
ReplyDeleteJade F here from the Summer Learning Journey. Very well spoken opinion on this task Talia good job. You make a very clear point that women are just as capable to do anything as men are and that is so true! You also mention that votes shouldn't be based off gender which is a very valid point! We are all human beings and should all have the same rights. Fantastic post Talia!
Looking forward to reading more of your awesome posts.
Cheers
Jade F :)
Kia Ora Talia,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Georgia and I am the cluster manager for the Kaikohekohe (Northland) cluster. For the next few days, I'll be commenting on students blogs from Uru Manuka and I am very excited to see the work you all have been doing this summer.
I really enjoyed reading your argument about whether it is fair or not that women weren't able to vote. You had some very good points and I like how clearly you presented them.
Do you know the history of women voting in New Zealand? Kate Sheppard (who is the lady on our $10 bill) was a strong advocate for women's rights and helped New Zealand become the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote.Isn't that incredible that we were the first country in the world to understand that women should have the same right to vote as men.
Here's an article if you'd like to learn more about Kate Sheppard https://nzhistory.govt.nz/people/kate-sheppard
Keep u the awesome posts and I look forward to reading more soon.
Nga mihi
