Tapu Ae

What is Tapu Ae?

This is a game similar to netball. The aim of the game is to knock the tennis balls off the cone. 

What are some of the basic rules?

1. Only take 2 steps when you have the ball.
2. You can hit the ball out of your opponent's hand.
3. Stay on your third of the court.
4. You can only throw between each third.

What is some of the Te Reo Maori language that we talked about?

Tupu, Ki, Pawero, Papa, Takaro

What was your role in your team for these games?

Officer- Help people figure out what they are doing and where to do it.

What did you enjoy most about the game?

I enjoyed getting to run after the ball and trying to gt it away from other players.

What were some drawbacks that I can think of?

Some of our players didn't share the ball very much and we also didn't spread out very well all of the time.

What could my team do better next time we play?

We could communicate better and share the ball around more and maybe have more sub rotations.

100 Word Challenge

This is my 100 word challenge for this we had to have 100 words no more no less. Mine is about something kind of naughty my best friend and I did. We had to include the phrase Looking back I remember. Then we had to make sure we definitely had 100 words if not we had to add or remove some words.

Looking back I remember,

On my first year of primary school, during interval, I remember going to the bathroom with my best friend Erika and pouring soap all over the floor and taking off our shoes. We skated up and down in our socks for ages even through to class time. As time went on, obviously it was slippery we fell over a lot so  when we finally came back to class our teacher wondered what happened so we told her, but we weren't in trouble, we didn’t even have to clean it. We did, however, make our teacher laugh.

CIP- Meal budgeting challenge.

Who?
I was in a group with: Chloe, Roxy, Zac Ty and Taylor.

What?
This was a meal challenge so we had to come up with a meal we wanted to make ours was homemade subways, then we had to go onto the countdown or expansive site and figure out what we needed. We had a budget of $12 so we had to figure out how to get what we needed/wanted for our subs. we ended up spending 75 cents over our budget but thanks to our wonderful teach Whaea Raewyn she covered that for us.

Where?
We went to paknsave to buy our ingrediants even though we budgeted at countdown it eneded up being ok.

When?
Last wednesday is when we went shopping for our ingrediants and we did it in the morning.

Why?
To learn how to budget and we also did it to get better at cooking and working in groups.

How?
We had 3 teachers with us... Whaea raewyn, Mr Mitchell and Mark who helps the teachers out and does other important stuff. They walked us through kyle park and down to the mall then we separated into our groups and got what we needed then met at the checkouts to purchase our goods..

In my opinion this was really fun getting to budget and plan a meal even cooking it was fun.

There is no 'I' In team- First week in P.E

What makes a good team player? I think in order to be a good team player you need to listen to others ideas and try other peoples strategy's. I think to be a good team player you need to take turns sharing ideas.
What skills and attributes do you need to display? 
You need to be able to listen and try other peoples ideas/ strategy's because its not fair on others to only do what you want.

What is my role within my team?
My role is to be an officer.

What does my role involve?
Help organise the team and help get everyone sorted for the game.

How could I be a better team player?
By letting others have more of a say in what our team does and make sure everyone has something to do.

1.  I want to get fitter by doing the sports the best I can.
2. I want to learn how to work in a team well i can do this by listening to others not just talking over them.
3. I also want to learn how to communicate better by listening and answering with helpful feedback.

1. Keep an eye out for soemone who isn't involved in the activity.

Reading DLO

This week we have been working on a book which is not too bad. I like it so far but its not too easy or hard to read which is good. I think its the kind of book that will get better as we read more but so far I think its good.

DMIC Maths

This week in DMIC math we have been doing problems that involve using a graph so we learned how to use one.

 We had a problem about 2 peoples medicine so when and how much they need of it. On one side of the graph we put the time on one side and on the other we put the amounts so in this case it was milliliters (ml).
Then we had to put down either on every line a 10ml difference or more so we started off with a 10 ml difference then we learnt that the numbers didn't have enough space to go high enough so we made it 20 mls and in the hours it went every 3 hours so 3,6,9 etc. 
But if your hours don't need to be that short like you only needed it for every 12 hours you could just do it every 12 or 10 hours on the graph its one of those things you can customize to what you need.

DMIC math is fun but depending on the problem it can be really easy or really hard it doesn't really vary in the middle. But all in all I do like doing it.

Digital Tech

What do I think Digital tech will be about?
I think this will be about learning how to use different digital apps and technology.

What do I already know?
I know how to use most of my Chromebook apps. But to  be honest I don't know much else.

What do I want to learn?
I want to learn how to use more apps and setting on devices so I could use them for my learning.
