My main subject matter is a beach at sunset with Leonardo DiCaprio, Titanic, and Britannic. they butterflies in the image are all floating towards Leonardo, in fact, everything is moving towards him making him the center of the image. I overlapped the images of Leonardo DiCaprio meaning half of his face is from a different picture there is also one butterfly that is also overlapping onto another one so half is pink half is purple. However, everything else isn’t overlapping.
The form of my image - I did play around with the scale, for instance, some butterflies are larger than Leonardo, and the Titanic. I worked in color for this photomontage, there is the sunset, Leonardo, and the butterflies however the Brittanic and Titanic aren't in color they are in black in white this is for two reasons, 1 being that it adds some contrast in the image and 2 is that they are real photos of the ship so they were already black and white.
Composition- My photomontage has quite a deep space, the sunset meets the sea. I don’t have leading lines however I do have repeating parts such as the butterflies and seashells. Some butterflies are larger than the actor and the ships but the actor is still made to be of importance whereas the ships are to look distant.
Hi Talia, this is Candesse and Sita.
ReplyDeleteWe really love this blog post because your artwork sounds interesting. You have written it using your own words and you put it in paragraphs which made more sense. Next time you could include a photo so we can see it instead of just imagining what it looks like. Which hurumanu have you learned the most from this term?
Kia Ora Talia, This is a very good analysis of your photomontage. You've commented on Subject matter, form, and composition. You conclude by describing your intention for the work. I think that you do succeed in creating and image that is fanciful and strange. Tino pai! If you think back to Hannah Höch's photomontage, whould you say that her photomontage was also unusual and strange?
