Beatlemania

The Beatles traveled to Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, and Christchurch during their New Zealand tour in 1964.

This is a link for the song 'She loves you

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S302kF8MJ-I&ab_channel=GuitarDocs

It sounds different to music in the '40s mainly because it's more upbeat, it was new and older music is more on the classical side.

My weekend

During the weekend I stayed at Paige's, it was quite boring because Paige is boring, she was babysitting so we didn't do much but we played a board game and watched movies, we also started annoying some people from school, because we were bored. Then on Sunday, I went out for lunch with my father. That was all I did, it was relatively boring.

Athletics Day- Reflection section

Last Thursday we had athletics day, Paige. Mya and I are all in Tieke and our house colour is red, so we dressed up in red clothing. For our events we had discus, long jump, high jump and a 60-metre sprint, we missed long jump and discus because we didn't know what our times were but went to high jump and the 60-metre sprint. Because we were in social athletics and not competitive, we didn't have many activities to go to, so we mainly just watched the other people run. Towards the end of the day they had relays, first, it was each Kahui vs each other and in the end it as the seniors vs the teachers, which was the most interesting part of it all. In the end, I think Mohua won and Tieke came second.

Atomic Science: Periodic Table

What does the periodic table show us?

The periodic table shows us the elements, it is arranged by their atomic numbers and electron configuration

What is a mass number? It shows us the mass number which is the number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus.

What is an atom? An atom is a very small particle that makes up everything around us, it consists of three particles, electrons, protons, and neutrons.

What are alkali metals?  An alkali metal is any of the six chemical elements that make n Group 1 of the periodic table. It's the first collum on the periodic table-  lithium (Li), sodium (Na), potassium (K), rubidium (Rb), cesium (Cs), and francium (Fr). They react with other elements because they want to get rid of the one-electron they have.

What happened during the demonstration? The teacher put lithium into the water and it changed the colour, then she used sodium and it created a small fire on the water but in the end, it made a small explosion.

Christmas

How is this celebrated?
It is celebrated differently by everyone. For me in New Zealand, it is celebrated by spending time with family, having food sometimes giving presents, and just in general, a time for your whole family to get together. It is often celebrated with Christmas trees or at least that's part of it, for some children Santa comes and delivers them presents, those are some of the traditions that come with a lot of Christmases.
Who is it celebrated with?
Family and sometimes friends.

Why is this important to celebrate?
For some, it's about religion for others it's just a nice time of year to get together with friends and family and celebrate something.

Personal Values

FROM THE VALUES YOU CHOSE, WRITE ABOUT THE TWO THAT ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU

WHY IS THIS VALUE IMPORTANT TO YOU?

RECALL A MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU REALLY ‘LIVED’ THIS VALUE.

IF THIS VALUE IS NOT BEING RESPECTED BY OTHERS, HOW MIGHT YOU FEEL OR REACT?

Letting go of fears It means I would be less nervous When I didn't check the lock on the door multiple times before going to sleep. Not sure, It doesn't affect me if others don't follow this.
Finding meaning in existence To me, if I can't find meaning in existence there's no point in living.  ? Also doesn't affect me.

Parihaka

Parihaka lyrics

What is the main message of this song?

Staying peaceful during the destructive times.

What line explains their passive resistance method?

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated,

And even at the darkest hour,

His presence will remain.

I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka.

What does ‘you can’t pull out the roots’ refer to?

It refers to family, they can take your home but they can’t change your family, ancestors, and your culture.

How does this song show the significance of Parihaka?

It shows what they thought of the situation.

What makes an event Significant? When it has a big impact on someone or something whether it’s good or bad.
