Climate change

My Investigation on climate change

    ACIDIFICATION

    DEFINITION:

What is happening to the oceans?
It is obsorbing the C02 which is carbon dioxide as a result its making more acid.
What does this do to shellfish?
The wont grow so the fish won't be as big so people won't be able to eat it.

HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACIDIFICATION OF OUR OCEANS?

Ocean acidification is decreasing levels of pH in the ocean, which makes the sea more acidic. It is the long-term change in seawater  due to the absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Roughly 30 percent of human-made CO2 is absorbed by the oceans.

    DEFINITION:Trees being cut down

    What are trees used for?
    Oxygen- To help us breathe.

HOW DOES DEFORESTATION AFFECT THE CLIMATE?

It is stopping the water cycle from working which means odd things are going on such as floods ect. It can stop oxygen from getting released and more carbon dioxide will be released and it works as a green house gas, Trees collect water when it rains if people keep cutting down the trees carbon dioxide will be released.

    ICE CAP MELT

    DEFINITION: melting ice

If all the ice melted what would happen?
There is 13 million cubic meters of ice. Antarctica contains 70 % of the earths water. The world would feel it if the ice started to melt. Sea levels would rise by about 60 meters. central china would entirely disappear. Any where between 1-2 billion people could be displaced.

HOW DOES ICE CAP MELT AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?

Sea levels would rise, Salt levels would go up which could kill lots of marine life.

    WATER VAPOUR

    DEFINITION: water rising

HOW DOES  WATER VAPOUR AND EVAPORATION CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE CHANGE?

As the climate warms, more evaporation from water sources and land occurs, air temperature rise,  therefore  increasing the atmosphere moisture content.
