Textiles bags.

This semester in textiles we have been working on designing and creating bags. I made three drawstring bags, originally we were only meant to make one but I liked both of mine and wanted to give them to my cousins for Christmas so I made another bag for Family works.

Steps: I used the same steps for all of my bags.

  1.  I cut out paper into the shape and size I wanted my bags to be.
  2. I used the template and cut my fabric.
  3. I used the overlocker on the edges of my fabric.
  4. I sewed my fabric together on three sides at the top sew it so there is a loop for the drawstring.
  5. add my drawstring and then tie it at the ends.

I also used this pink backing for the blue bag and the dog bag.

Melbourne trip- business studies

Today in business we were looking at budgeting a trip to Melbourne for 1 with a $1300 budget, here is what is spent and why.

1. Air NZ seat + bag, there and back. I did this because it's the cheapest option available with a bag and I didn't need a meal to go with it.

There- $180 Back- $249

2. Ticket- Front row = $109, Transport- bus $10, Food- Chips and drink $10,  Merhcandise- Tshirt $ 30.

I got this stuff because it was cheaper without cutting myself off from everything just to stick under budget.

3- Menu 1 for 12 people = $183

I chose this because it was the cheapest option available and we still get food.

4- Hotel 1 = $160 for 2 nights = $320.

I chose this because hotel 1 included wifi and breakfast so even though each night was more expensive it included wifi and breakfast so it ended up being cheaper.

Total -$1101

Budgeting Crossword- Business Studies

Today in business we have been making crosswords to do with budgeting, we could also make a budgeting language dictionary but I decided to do a crossword. I used 10 words that relate to budgeting.

I used google for some of the answers today but I never used an actual website I just used a dictionary to make sure that I got all of my answers right.
I think I got a lot of this right but it's very possible I have done something wrong.
I struggled to find the definitions of some of the words even though we have been looking at them for the past week or more.

Niuean Language Week + Tokelau Language Week - Music

https://tevaka.com/

100-word writing challenge for Niuean Language Week + Tokelau Language Week

This type of music makes me think of being in Fiji in the summer, the music reminds me of sitting outside with cultural music playing and while I know it's different it still reminds me of this. I can also picture the ocean being clear and the weather being sunny, the music just sounds happy and upbeat. Another image I can see is the beach during sunset when the sky starts to turn orange and pink, I feel like this kind of music would really suit the occasion, and that is what it makes me think of.

Business Studies- Promotion

  • We have a slide on a big slide show that has our product, company name, and prices on it. Then on the day, we have a big poster with our name and products we have also been telling lost of people about it.
  • We are aiming for teens to young adults, with the patterns they seem younger but the size of the face masks are for men, women, and teens. We are also selling really affordable products they range from $2-$4.
  • We are just trying to get the word out, telling people about it, having posters, making sure its something people are actually going to want.
  • The posters around the school are bright and colourful to attract the eye of our target audience ( young women/teens). The poster on the day will be at our table to make what we are doing obvious.
  • OUrs focuses more on Price and Promotion, we have to prove that our products are good quality, affordable and just making sure that they are worth it.

Business-place

We will be making our product in either the sewing room or T9 since we will have to sew the wheat bags and facemasks.
A good location would probably be inside just considering that the facemasks ay end up blowing away if the wind continues to be strong. If the wind isn't too heavy that day then outside would be fine.
People most likely would have to be walking past as our idea is pretty basic but its a necessity, during this time face masks, are never a bad idea and wheat hotties are good for the cold, granted its heading towards summer they should last years so they will still be a good buy.
So far we know of at least one group selling wheat bags and I'm sure other groups will also have facemasks but ours are really cheap so hopefully, we will get some buys.

NPP- New Zealand Political Party

In hurumanu (power to the people) we are looking at Political Parties. We have chosen to name our party NPP- New Zealand Political Party, in our group we have Ella- leader, Shane-co leader, Paige, Minseo, and me.

Slogan: Endless  "Possibilities with NPP."

Price- Business Studies

Prices

Pocket size - $2.00
Medium - $ 3.50
Face mask - $2.00
Pocket size & face mask - $3.50
Medium & face mask - $4.50
Pocket, medium & facemask - $5.50

How did we decide what price to sell our product?
As a group, We figured out the prices for our products by thinking about what we would be willing to pay for the products ourselves.

How will we ensure others the price you're asking for is worth it?
Our products are 100% reusable. Not only are the prices responsible but there are also packs/deals to make people more interested in buying our products.

What price are other people selling for the same good?
Others are selling the products for the same price possibly more.

Art Composition

In art this week we looked at creating a composition out of a picture either one from google or one we took ourselves I used one off of my phone from a holiday I took. We had to capture the shadows and the basic shapes of the image.
