Nutrition

Today we watched a video about sugar and how foods have changed over the years and have more added sugars and less vitamins.

I learnt that even if you eat some healthy foods if you eat other not so healthy foods it will flood your body with the sugar and take away the health benefits if this happens too often you will most likely end up with type 2 diabetes.

I wonder if your insulin is so close to breaking point can you change that and regain insulin or are you most likely to get type 2 diabetes.]

The Sugar Test

Today we had to look at the label of different foods that we would generally think are healthy but some of the products were obviously jot. we had to find out how many teaspoons were in the product.

Our first product was:  Red Bull  and there was 6.4 teaspoons of sugar per serving.

Reading Labels

Red Bull

What colours are on the label?  Red, Blue, Silver
Why do you think they chose these colours? They contrast well  with the red and they choose red so it would match the name.
What images are on the label? Two red bulls running at each other with a gold ball behind them.
Why do you think these images are on the label? To represent the red bulls but the gold ball could represent a moon at the dead of night but its an energy drink so it could represent staying awake.
What words are on the label? With taurine, Vitalizes body and mind.
Why do you think these images are on the label? Because they are good selling points.
