Science- Paper Planes

FLIGHT

Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

  • In your groups of 3 you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behaviour.
  • In groups of 3 you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.
Image result for flight forces

Definition:
Flight is a movement where something is moving above ground around for a long time.

4 forces of flight:

  1.   Gravity
  2.    Thrust
  3.   lift
  4.   Drag

Paper Plane:

Material:

1. paper
2.

Steps:

1.

 2.

 3.
4.
 5.
 6.

Findings:

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
3.2 metres
It flew fine for the first 2.5 metres then it landed in the sink.
Ailerons
3.2 metres
It flew fine for the first 2.5 metres then it landed in the sink.

Rudder
1.7 metres
because of the flaps the plane turned around.

Conclusion:
I think our plane test didn't work well because everytime we threw it it either landed in the sink or right beside it.
